How does the ShockWatch sticker work?
Shockwatch labels are devices designed to monitor and indicate whether a package or product has experienced potentially damaging levels of impact during transit.
Shockwatch labels contain a vial of dye liquid that ruptures at a specified sensitivity level that is unable to be tampered with.
Shockwatch 2 labels are field-armable, tamper-proof, and mechanically activated devices that turn bright red when an impact occurs. Since they are not always live, the Shockwatch 2 label activates once stuck to the package.
Where do you put the ShockWatch indicator?
Shockwatch damage indicators are omnidirectional so they can detect drops and shock in all directions. Mount the ShockWatch 2 Impact Indicator in the lower third of the package/pallet as close to the edge as possible. What is the difference between Shockwatch and Shockwatch 2 labels?
The key difference between the Shockwatch and the Shockwatch 2 is how they detect shock. The Shockwatch label is a more sensitive device as it is mechanical, it uses a glass vial of colored liquid to detect impacts and breaks once it reaches a threshold. The Shockwatch 1 is always live.
The Shockwatch 2 is a sensor-based device that can sense and record impact intensity. It is less sensitive than the Shockwatch 1 but is more cost-effective. The Shockwatch 2 can be armed once you ship the box and is not always live unlike the Shockwatch 1.
