ShockWatch Labels
ShockWatch has been a global leader in designing and developing impact indicators, tilt indicators, and temperature monitoring devices. ShockWatch offers a complete line of shipment protection products. ShockWatch impact labels allow for complete data analysis to evaluate packaging, modes of transport, and product condition. If you need a simpler solution at a lower price point, our impact indicators and tilt indicators provide proof that products may have become damaged during transit, providing evidence to support a damage claim.

Frequently Asked Questions Shockwatch Labels

Which shockwatch label should I buy?

We offer Shockwatch and Shockwatch 2 labels ranging in sensitivities from 5G to 75G to detect a range of falls for package weights from 1 lb to 30,000 lbs. Use the table below to find the correct Shockwatch label for your packaging needs.

How does the ShockWatch sticker work?

Shockwatch labels are devices designed to monitor and indicate whether a package or product has experienced potentially damaging levels of impact during transit.

Shockwatch 1 labels contain a vial of dye liquid that ruptures at a specified sensitivity level that is unable to be tampered with.

Shockwatch 2 labels are electronic and contain an accelerometer sensor that measures force as well as duration of the impact.

Where do you put the ShockWatch indicator?

Shockwatch damage indicators are omnidirectional so they can detect drops and shock in all directions. Mount the ShockWatch 2 Impact Indicator in the lower third of the package/pallet as close to the edge as possible. They should not be placed in the center of the face of the package as it can reduce detection. Below we link to a document from SpotSee, the maker of Shockwatch that explains the mounting process.

What is the difference between Shockwatch 1 and Shockwatch 2 labels?

The key difference between the Shockwatch 1 and the Shockwatch 2 is how they detect shock. The Shockwatch 1 label is a more sensitive device as it is mechanical, it uses a glass vial of colored liquid to detect impacts and breaks once it reaches a threshold. The Shockwatch 1 is always live.

The Shockwatch 2 is a sensor-based device that can sense and record impact intensity as well as duration. It is less sensitive than the Shockwatch 1 but is more cost-effective. The Shockwatch 2 can be armed once you ship the box and is not always live unlike the Shockwatch 1.
