UV Poly is the the most cost effective form of glazing that can be used for plant nurseries and small to medium size farms. Custom made UV Rated Poly is a fairly long lasting, highly resilient and easy to replace cover. UV Rated Poly provides the high light transmission for the plants and increases safety ( Poly that is UV Rated won’t shatter or break like galss does ) and has a wonderful ratio of insulation value. UV Poly sheeting for greenhouses keep the pests and insects away. Plastic film also let’s the sun’s rays in, and helps to contain the heat. Custom printed single wound UV rated poly film is available with a normal performance life of somewhere between 1 to 4 and maybe even 6 years depending on whether it has been UV protected Poly is also very light in weight. UV Poly film is the first choice for covering greenhouses, mostly because of its low cost, and ease of use. When heat retention is desired, a double layer of UV Rated poly will reduce heat loss in winter by 30–40% compared to glass or a single layer of UV Poly, thereby lowering your heating cost and also increasing the production value of your plants, not to mention the comfort of stepping out of the cold. International Plastics, being the manufacturer, is continually striving to increase the quality while reducing cost to you the customer. Before UV protection was offered in custom poly film, it's "life" was very short. The UV Greenhouse Poly that we make available, grower’s can get up to four years, and sometimes even six, if the Poly is properly maintained, and shade clothe is used during the peak hot sunny days of summer, for added protection from the UV rays, the poly will last much longer than expected. UV Rated poly film is the most sought out glazing material for it's ease of installation, versatility and low cost. It is easily replaced and is the cheapest glazing out of any choice. Double layered (with an air gap in between each layer and well sealed) poly surfaces experience roughly 60 percent less of the heat loss compared to a single layer plastic glazing. Bubble wrap can even be used to help insulate a greenhouse during the winter season.
Benefits of UV Greenhouse Poly:
- UV Rated Poly is the cheapest way to cover a greenhouse
- By adding another sheet of poly to the inside walls during the winter months, insulation can be greatly increased. The air flow between the two poly sheets creates an insulating barrier.
- Custom UV rated Poly is the cheapest way to have your own hobby plant nursery or seedling house or it can even be used for commercial greenhouses and nurseries.
- Our UV Rated Polyethylene is tear and puncture resistant within normal and well cared for use. We guarantee a good product but we can't guarantee against misuse or a longer than expected performance "life"
- Ultraviolet additives can be requested to extend the life of the poly, and saving the leaves of the plants from being burnt.
Downsides of UV Greenhouse Poly:
- UV Poly usually needs to be re-covered or replaced somewhere between two to six years, depending on many factors.
